Synthetic insulation makes the Encampment 15 Degree ideal for wet and humid climates. The Encampment 15 Degree is insulated with Climashield HL synthetic fill. The HL in its name alludes to the "high loft" and corresponding comfort provided by Climashield HL's individual fibers. This fast-drying insulation is water-resistant and, unlike down fill, provides warmth even when wet. The Encampment 15 Degree's nylon microfiber rip-stop shell fabric has a surface treatment that further helps to repel water. In a traditional sleeping system, the bag lies on top of a sleeping pad. Once compressed, the fill loses most of its insulating properties. The Big Agnes Sleep System is different, joining the bag and pad together.
